Welcome to my Non-Picture-making illustration corner!

Umm Assad Publications strive to protect three precious steps in order to keep your resources authentic:

  1. No Picture-Making
  2. Authentic References/Sources (from Qur’an & Hadith)
  3. Read and Checked by Students of Knowledge

As an author of authentic children’s picture and rhyming books, my promise to you is to provide authenticity in all our publications. An important part of our publications is to avoid picture-making images yet keep it fun and engaging for children and adults too (as seen below). This means that I do not produce anything that resembles the creation of Allaah with a soul in it.

Drawing has been a huge passion in my life since early childhood and although I took Art for GCSE as well as Design Technology many years ago, most of what I learn and produce today is ‘self-taught’ bi’ithnillaah wal-Hamdolillah.

I mainly illustrate scenes, objects and text; both indoor and outdoor areas, objects/items such as food, toys and clothes and the likes, and texts such as comic typography.

All my cute and cartoony style illustrations are hand drawn, making them suitable for children’s books, colouring books, comic books, posters, logos, clothing, animation and just about anything fun and cute really. I can cartoonize almost any picture or text whether drawing from reference, memory, imagination, tracing or a written description.

The completion of a full illustration from beginning to end include the following stages:

  1. Sketch
  2. Draw
  3. Colour/Paint
  4. Light & Shadow

It is a huge blessing and honour to finally be able to share some of my work with you and the world today with a halal approach. Alhamdolillah.
